Stress Coat

Purpose and Benefits:
Stress Coat forms a synthetic slime coating on the skin of fish, replacing the natural secretion of slime that is lost during netting, handling, shipping, fighting and other forms of stress. Stress Coat is a water conditioner suitable for fresh and salt water aquariums, water gardens and ponds. Stress Coat contains Aloe Vera, which acts as a liquid bandage, to protect and heal damaged fish tissue. Stress Coat instantly removes chlorine and heavy metals such as copper and zinc from tap water. Stress Coat also removes chloramines by breaking the chlorine-ammonia bond.

The effectiveness of Stress Coat with Aloe Vera has been proven by independent studies conducted at the University of Georgia, School of Veterinary Medicine. Researchers found that Stress Coat helped heal wounds and speed tissue regrowth. Dr John Gratzek summarizes the results: "Personally, I am satisfied with the results since my initial thoughts were skeptical to say the least. These definite statements can be made without equivocation: Stress Coat in no way harms aquarium fish, alters pH, or affects the biological filter. No ammonia or nitrite was detected in the test aquariums. The results indicated that the Stress Coat formula reduced the wound size compared to untreated fish tissue." Aloe Vera is high in mucopolysaccharides, an essential component of many tissues and believed to help in the healing process. The glycoproteins Aloctin A and Aloctin B are also present and identified as the probable tissue-healers.

Directions for Use:
Each dose of Stress Coat removes 3.0 ppm chlorine and 0.3 ppm heavy metals.
To protect fish and condition water:
Add two teaspoonfuls (10 ml) for every 10 U.S. gallons of aquarium water.
To remove chlorine and heavy metals and neutralize chloramines:Add one teaspoonful (5 ml) for every 10 U.S. gallons (40 liters) of tap water.
For tropical fish use only. Do not use on fish intended for human consumption.

Compatibility:
Stress Coat can be used with freshwater tropical fish, marine fish, invertebrates and coldwater species including koi and goldfish. Stress Coat will not harm aquatic plants. Stress Coat may cause foaming in marine aquariums using a protein skimmer. Stress Coat will not interfere with water test kits.

pH Down 120ml

pH Down

Purpose and Benefits:
pH Down is a liquid pH lowering product for freshwater aquariums. pH Down lowers pH by neutralizing carbonate hardness in the water.

Adjusting the pH to the proper level will improve fish health, disease resistance, coloration and breeding. While many common aquarium fish will live in water with a pH range of 6.8 to 7.5, a pH of 7.0 is ideal for a community aquarium containing a variety of freshwater fish. Live bearers like mollies and swordtails prefer a higher pH of 7.2-7.6. Acid-loving fish such as angelfish and neon tetras prefer a lower pH of 6.5-6.8.

Each dose of pH Down neutralizes some of the carbonate hardness and lowers the pH. The pH may rebound up to the original pH if the carbonate hardness is high. Several consecutive treatments with pH Down may be necessary to lower pH, but if there are fish present in the aquarium, the pH should not be changed more than .2 in a 24 hour period. The number of doses required to lower the pH will depend on the carbonate hardness level and the desired pH level. An aquarium with low carbonate hardness may require one treatment with pH Down while an aquarium with a high carbonate level will require several.

Directions for Use:
1. Use Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Freshwater pH test Kit to determine the pH of the aquarium. 2. To lower pH, add two drops of pH Down for every U.S. gallon (3.78 L) of aquarium water. 3. Take another pH reading before making the next addition of pH Down. 4. If fish are present in the aquarium, do not change the pH more than 0.2 in a 24 hour period (for example, from 7.2 to 7.0).

Compatibility:
pH Down contains no phosphates and may be used with live plants.

pH Up

pH Up

Purpose and Benefits:
pH Up is a liquid pH raising product for freshwater aquariums. By neutralizing acidic substances in the aquarium, pH Up effectively makes the water more alkaline. The pH may rebound down to the original pH depending on the level acid in the aquarium. Several consecutive treatments with pH Up may be necessary to adjust pH to the desired level, but if there are fish present in the aquarium, the pH should not be changed more than .2 in a 24 hour period.

While many common aquarium fish will live in water with a pH of 6.8 to 7.5, a pH of 7.0 is ideal for a community aquarium containing a variety of freshwater fish. Live bearers like mollies and swordtails prefer a higher pH of 7.2-7.6. Acid-loving fish such as angelfish and neon tetras prefer a lower pH of 6.5-6.8. Making a partial water change (10-15%) will also remove some of the acids and help stabilize the pH. Adjusting the pH to the proper level will improve fish health, disease resistance, coloration and breeding.

Directions for Use:
1.Use Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Freshwater pH Test Kit to determine the pH of the aquarium. 2.To raise pH, add four drops of pH Up for every U.S. gallon (3.78 L) of aquarium water. 3.Take another pH reading before making the next addition of pH Up. 4.If fish are present in the aquarium, do not change the pH more than 0.2 in a 24 hour period (for example, from 7.0 to 7.2).

Compatibility:
pH Up contains no phosphates and may be used with live plants.

Stress Zyme

Stress Zyme

Purpose and Benefits:
Stress Zyme is a biological filter additive containing live bacteria that improves the development of the biological filter and helps clean a dirty aquarium. The build-up of organic pollution in the aquarium inhibits the growth of nitrifying bacteria. The bacteria in Stress-Zyme keep conditions in the aquarium right for the development of the biological filter by consuming harmful organic pollutants. This speeds the development of the biological filter in newly set up aquariums. A build-up of organic compounds also promotes the growth of disease-causing organisms in the aquarium. Stress Zyme keeps the biological filter working properly by keeping the aquarium gravel and filter clean. Water quality and living conditions are improved when Stress Zyme is used on a regular basis.

Each teaspoonful of Stress Zyme contains 300 million bacteria. These bacteria are in a dormant state and become active when added to the aquarium. Stress Zyme has a five year shelf life and does not require refrigeration. Stress Zyme is effective in freshwater and marine aquariums.

Directions for Use:
New Aquariums:
Shake well before using

On the 1st, 7th, and 14th days add 2 teaspoonfuls (10 ml) for every 10 US gallons (40 L) of aquarium water. Thereafter, each week add 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) for every 10 gallons (40 L) of aquarium water.

Existing Aquariums:
To maintain good water quality and healthy biological filtration, add 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) for every 10 U.S. gallons (40L) of aquarium water weekly.

Compatibility:
Stress Zyme can be used with freshwater tropical fish, marine fish, invertebrates and coldwater species including koi and goldfish. Stress Zyme will not harm aquatic plants. Keep from freezing. Do not store above 120°F (49°C). Stress Zyme is completely harmless to humans and pets.
